Potty Training: A lesson in Persistence

Started potty training my son Oct 5th, here we are today Nov 25th, we have some wins and some losses. But by sticking to the process, we are making progress.

You may not be where you thought you should be but keep taking steps in the right direction, you will find that you are closer than when you started.

Today is December 25, we have major wins!!!! He goes to the toilet to pee all by himself, he is able to articulate his need to pee and ask for help if needed. He sleeps overnight without a diaper and goes without diapers throughout the whole day.

I got tired at some point but got back on track. All the while my son kept learning what to do and how to do it. There’s such a big lesson in this: persistence and repetition over time yield tangible results.

“As long as we are persistence in our pursuit of our deepest destiny, we will continue to grow. We cannot choose the day or time when we will fully bloom. It happens in its own time.”

“Success is almost totally dependent upon drive and persistence. The extra energy required to make another effort or try another approach is the secret of winning.”

Denis Waitley

You might feel like nothing is changing, you might feel like you’re not making progress, you might get tired and frustrated. Don’t beat yourself up, accept it and continue working on your goal. You will surely WIN!!!
